NEXT S.A., with over three decades of presence in the field of graphic arts, stationery products, and many others, was looking for a modern digital solution that would reflect the experience, quality, and dynamics of the company. With this vision, we created for them a unified B2C and B2B eshop, which provides a harmonious experience for both retail and wholesale, simultaneously connecting the digital space with NEXT's rich history and capabilities.
Developing a modern eshop that incorporates over 30,000 items was a huge challenge. Beyond the volume of products, there was a need to manage multiple categories, multiple units of measurement, and a specialized system for calculating shipping costs. This last aspect, in particular, required a customized solution capable of calculating the most economical and efficient shipping option for the customer based on various parameters such as size, weight, and others, thereby serving the unique needs and multiple partnerships with shipping companies of Nextstore. Such a demanding project could only be implemented on our side with wefia, a platform developed by our company over the last 10 years for special requirements of interfacing with all Greek computerized systems.
After an in-depth study of Nextstore's needs, we managed to develop a fully customized solution, which is summarized in the following points:
- B2B and B2C in one eshop: We incorporated functions for both user categories, allowing smooth service for both corporate customers and retail.
- Complex pricing policy: We dynamically applied the complex pricing policy of our client, based on the data from the ERP. Multiple dynamic catalogs that change based on customer category, type of item, unit of measurement, and batch. Prices are calculated live on the site, taking into account all the above data, allowing customers to order their actual prices, avoiding errors and further calls to find out the real total of their orders.
- Custom shipping calculation: We created a special shipping calculation system that combines multiple carriers and shipping mechanisms, providing the user with the most economical combination of shipping costs.
- Dynamic PDF catalog production: The ability for the administrator to produce pdf catalogs with the items that each customer is interested in and their special prices.
- Personalized item lists: Users can create lists of favorite products, and with one click, add them to their cart, which is particularly useful for repeat orders in the B2B sector.
- Order creation from Excel for B2B: Knowing the need of corporate customers to handle large volumes of orders in an automated way, we offered the ability to import an Excel file with all their orders. This allows the direct transfer of a large volume of orders to the eshop, without the need for individual entry of each product. It is a feature that not only saves time but also avoids the errors that can occur during manual entry.
